Faculty

Faculty

HMA faculty are mission-driven Ethiopian and non-Ethiopian educators who are motivated by a love of students and a desire to support them as they develop into resilient, independent thinkers and purposeful, community-minded individuals.

As members of a residential school, HMA faculty are committed to modeling how individuals from different backgrounds form a community that works collaboratively toward shared goals. Each faculty member makes significant contributions to the academic, co-curricular and residential aspects of school life and embraces the opportunity to guide their students and advisees to become leaders for change.

All faculty live on campus. Residential advisors—who are often faculty—live in separate apartments in student dormitories, helping students adjust to and take full advantage of the boarding school environment

All faculty have master’s degrees, and on average faculty have 10 year’s teaching experience.
