Academics

Academics

Our rigorous classes cover the standard Ethiopian National Curriculum and prepare students for outstanding results on the national exams and for further study at the best colleges and universities in the world.

Because we are a residential school, we have a schedule that allows students to go into greater depth in the subjects they study. The residential program also means that students are supported by faculty outside class times and have access to a wide range of additional resources. Students also develop close relationships with each other, with peer-to-peer learning being an important part of our programming.

Assignments require students to work both independently and collaboratively, to understand methods of inquiry that promote divergent thinking and creativity, and to embrace uncertainty as an opportunity for innovation.

Students take regular tests to assess knowledge. They also frequently complete projects that apply their knowledge in concrete ways and present these projects to each other and experts from within and outside the school community.
